Charming little place with a fireplace and variety of seating. Owner is the host, server and bartender. He’s very friendly and he did a great job serving up great food, steaming hot delicious ravioli in a red meat sauce and a bowl of Jamaican pepper pot soup. Full bar with classic beers and craft brews. Stop by after a hike or snowmobile ride in the Bear Swamp state forest right next door.

It was the best cooked steak I have ever ordered. Prices are great. Service was outstanding. Very welcoming and friendly people that make you feel like you have been there a thousand times, although it was my first time there. I really enjoyed myself. All customers talk to each other like old friends. Clean and a really good time.

We had a nice dinner at the homey Colonial Lodge on 2/28/2026 after skiing in Bear Swamp State Forest. The fried perch with homemade mashed potatoes was delicious as was the cheeseburger with fries, and the prices are very reasonable, esp compared with nearby Skaneateles. Although the lodge is in a pretty rural part of the Finger Lakes it's really not that far at all from Skaneateles, Cortland and Homer. After a nice hike or ski on the excellent trails of the adjacent Bear Swamp dinner and drinks at the lodge can top off a great day trip.
